"Informer" was the lone hit single for Canadian reggae artist Snow. It was one of many songs that helped popularize the reggae sound in popular music during the 90s, along with other hits by artists like Diana King, Shabba Ranks, and Shaggy. The lyrics are delivered with a heavy patois that make them "unintelligible" to standard English speakers, to the point the song was parodied by Jim Carrey on In Living Color.
