"Mary's Prayer" was the primary single from the debut album "Meet Danny Wilson" of the Scottish pop band calling itself Danny Wilson from Dundee, Scotland, and was an international hit in the late 1980s. Contrary to what was casually believed by many, the singer is Gary Clark, and the band, itself, was named Danny Wilson after a character in a Frank Sinatra film which had been a favorite of the Clark brother's father - as mentioned, the lead vocalist being the singer/songwriter Gary Clark .
