Son of a Preacher Man Lyrics

[00:14.22] Billy Ray was a preacher's son
[00:16.55] And when his daddy would visit he'd come along
[00:20.47] When they gathered around the parlour talkin'
[00:23.67] That's when Billy would take me walkin'
[00:26.80] Through the back yard we'd go walkin'
[00:30.18] Then he'd look into my eyes (ho)
[00:32.92] Lord knows to my surprise
[00:36.03] The only one who could ever reach me
[00:39.28] (Was the son of a preacher man)
[00:41.58] The only boy who could ever teach me
[00:45.31] (Was the son of a preacher man)
[00:47.10] Yes, he was (hallelujah)
[00:48.87] Yeah, he was (hallelujah)
[00:50.03] Oh, he was (oh hallelujah)
[00:55.46]
[01:00.87] Bein' good isn't always easy
[01:03.92] No matter how hard I try
[01:07.06] When he started sweet-talkin' to me
[01:09.95] He'd kiss and tell me "everything is all right" (sock it to me)
[01:13.08] Baby, baby everything is all right (oh sock it to me)
[01:16.08] Can I sneak away again tonight now?
[01:18.96] The only one who could ever reach me
[01:22.28] (Was the son of a preacher man)
[01:23.86] I tell you that the only boy who could ever teach me
[01:28.33] (Was the son of a preacher man)
[01:30.21] Yes, he was (hallelujah)
[01:32.05] Yeah, he was (hallelujah)
[01:33.05] Oh, he was (ha)
[01:37.48] Hm, mhmm
[01:41.66] How well I remember
[01:51.70] The look that was in his eyes
[01:57.03] Stealin' kisses from me on the sly
[02:03.38] Takin' time to make time
[02:07.94] Tellin' me that he's all of mine now
[02:13.68] Learnin' from each other's knowin'
[02:18.75] Lookin' to see how much we've growin' and
[02:21.53] The only boy who could ever reach me
[02:25.17] (Was the son of a preacher man)
[02:26.58] I tell you that the only boy who could ever teach me
[02:31.05] (Was the son of a preacher man)
[02:32.47] Ohoh, yes he was (Hallelujah)
[02:34.57] Yeah, he was (hallelujah)
[02:35.85] Oh, he was (oh hallelujah)
[02:40.67] Halleluiah
[02:43.63] (Son of a preacher boy, halleluiah)
[02:45.30] Hallelujah for the son, now yeah
[02:49.44] (Son of a preacher boy, halleluiah)
[02:50.76] Halleluiah, yeah
[02:55.45] (Son of a preacher boy, halleluiah)
[02:56.59] For the son, halle- hallelujah for the son, now
[03:01.44] (Son of a preacher boy)
[03:02.12] He was the only boy, yes he is, who could ever reach me
[03:07.14] (Son of a preacher boy)
[03:08.10] He's the only boy who could ever teach me
[03:13.08] (Son of a preacher boy)
[03:14.30]
