About I'm Waiting For The Day

"I'm Waiting for the Day" is a song by the American pop band The Beach Boys, taken from their 1966 album Pet Sounds. It is the fifth track on the album. The song was written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love with Brian also the producer of the song. The lead vocal was sung by Brian Wilson. The Pet Sounds Sessions compilation included an alternate take featuring Mike on lead vocals. However Brian, frustrated with his band members' performance, dismissed their parts and sang all the vocals himself. .

I'm Waiting For The Day Lyrics

[00:12.26] I came along when he broke your heart
[00:16.47] That's when you needed someone
[00:19.71] To help forget about him
[00:23.68] I gave you love with a brand new start
[00:28.15] That's what you needed the most
[00:31.01] To set your broken heart free
[00:35.13] I know you cried, and you felt blue
[00:40.91] But when I could I gave strength to you
[00:47.07] I'm waiting for the day when you can love again
[00:53.45]
[00:58.89] I kissed your lips
[01:00.59] And when your face looked sad
[01:03.29] It made me think about him
[01:06.32] And that you still loved him so
[01:09.83] But you know that pretty soon
[01:12.98] I made you feel glad
[01:15.25] That you belonged to me
[01:18.04] And love began to show
[01:21.90] He hurt you then, but that's all gone
[01:27.89] I guess I'm saying you're the only one
[01:33.52] I'm waiting for the day when you can love again
[01:39.55]
[02:02.98] He hurt you then, but that's all done
[02:08.55] I guess I'm saying you're the only one
[02:14.42] I'm waiting for the day when you can love again
[02:22.13]
[02:36.51] You didn't think that I could sit around and let him work
[02:42.63] You didn't think that I could sit around and let (watch) him take you
[02:48.49] You didn't think that I could sit around and let him go
[02:53.47] You didn't think that I could sit back and let you go
[02:59.55] You didn't think that I could sit around and let him work
[03:01.94]
