About Glory Days

"Glory Days" is a 1984 song, written and performed by American rock singer Bruce Springsteen. In 1985 it became the fifth single released from his massively successful album Born in the U.S.A. "Glory Days" was recorded in April or May 1982 (sources differ) during the first wave of Born in the U.S.A. sessions. Even though the album went through several different phases of what would be on it, "Glory Days" was always seen as one of the cornerstones. .

Glory Days Lyrics

[00:00.00]
[00:04.42] Oh, yeah
[00:06.66] Come on
[00:08.68] Woah
[00:13.19] Huh
[00:17.41] I had a friend who was a big baseball player
[00:21.63] Back in high school
[00:25.49] He could throw that speedball by you
[00:29.42] Make you look like a fool, boy
[00:32.73] Saw him the other night at this roadside bar
[00:36.91] I was walking in, he was walking out
[00:40.84] We went back inside, sat down, had a few drinks
[00:44.85] But all he kept talking about was
[00:49.21] Glory days
[00:51.23] Well, they'll pass you by, glory days
[00:55.33] In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
[00:59.25] Glory days
[01:04.03] (Alright)
[01:05.86] Well, there's a girl that lives up the block
[01:09.31] Back in school, she could turn all the boy's heads
[01:13.60] Sometimes on a Friday I'll stop by and have a few drinks
[01:18.76] After she put her kids to bed
[01:22.08] Her and her husband Bobby, well, they split up
[01:25.99] I guess it's two years gone by now
[01:30.36] We just sit around talking about the old times
[01:33.95] She says when she feels like crying
[01:35.95] She starts laughing thinking 'bout
[01:37.95] Glory days
[01:40.24] They'll pass you by, glory days
[01:44.29] In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
[01:48.65] Glory days
[01:53.01] (Alright boys, watch 'em work) rock it now
[02:03.98] Think I'm going down to the well tonight
[02:06.93] And I'm going to drink 'til I get my fill
[02:10.92] And I hope when I get old, I don't sit around thinking about it
[02:15.34] But I probably will
[02:19.06] Yeah, just sitting back
[02:21.07] Trying to recapture a little of the glory of
[02:27.10] Well, the time slips away
[02:28.99] Leaves you with nothing, mister, but boring stories of
[02:35.02] Glory days
[02:37.03] They'll pass you by, glory days
[02:41.49] In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
[02:45.58] Glory days
[02:49.41] Well, they'll pass you by, glory days
[02:53.50] In the wink of a young girl's eye, glory days
[02:57.47] Glory days
[03:02.01] (I've got this)
[03:04.27] Well alright, ooh yeah
[03:08.03] Well alright (alright)
[03:10.05] Come on now (oh yeah)
[03:12.05] Well alright (alright)
[03:14.19] Ooh yeah (oh yeah)
[03:16.07] Alright (alright)
[03:18.07] Come on now (oh yeah)
[03:28.48] Alright boys, keep it rockin' now
[03:33.27] Keep on goin'
[03:36.12] We're goin' for home now
[03:41.11] Bring it home, yeah
[03:44.55] Bring it home, oh oh oh
[03:48.94] Alright, well alright
[03:52.58] Well alright, well alright
[03:56.85] Well alright, well alright
[04:01.20] Alright, alright
[04:04.92] Let's go
[04:06.18]
