About Ooh La La

"Ooh La La" is a Faces song, written by Ronnie Lane and Ronnie Wood. It was Ronnie Wood, not Rod Stewart or Ronnie Lane, who sang the lead vocal for this song. Lane and Stewart were at odds at the time. Stewart did not think the song was up to his standards although both he and Lane recorded lead vocals for it. Their producer suggested Wood give it a try, and that's the version that was used for the album, which was Faces last studio album. Lane left the group after Ooh La La was released and Faces disbanded after their 1974 tour. .

Ooh La La Lyrics

[00:32.32] Poor old granddad
[00:35.07] I laughed at all his words
[00:38.31] I thought he was a bitter man
[00:41.73] He spoke of woman's ways
[00:44.82] They'll trap you, then they use you
[00:47.83] Before you even know
[00:51.21] For love is blind and you're far too kind
[00:54.44] Don't ever let it show
[00:57.58] I wish that I knew what I know now
[01:02.10] When I was younger
[01:04.18] I wish that I knew what I know now
[01:08.58] When I was stronger
[01:10.85] The can can's such a pretty show
[01:13.25] They'll steal your heart away
[01:16.89] But backstage, back on earth again
[01:19.95] The dressing rooms are gray
[01:22.81] They come on strong and it ain't too long
[01:26.49] Before they make you feel a man
[01:29.25] But love is blind and you soon will find
[01:32.62] You're just a boy again
[01:36.80]
[01:59.12] When you want her lips, you get a cheek
[02:01.94] Makes you wonder where you are
[02:04.88] If you want some more and she's fast asleep
[02:08.15] Then she's twinkling with the stars
[02:11.58] Poor young grandson, there's nothing I can say
[02:17.35] You'll have to learn, just like me
[02:21.24] And that's the hardest way
[02:24.49] Ooh la la, ooh la la la yeh
[02:33.38]
[02:44.69] I wish that I knew what I know now
[02:48.55] When I was younger
[02:51.24] I wish that I knew what I know now
[02:55.41] When I was stronger
[02:57.22]
